Joe Stephen Owens, a devoted husband, father, and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Born on March 28, 1960, in Montgomery, Alabama, Joe lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for the simple joys found in nature and family.
Mr. Owens devoted four decades of his life to Neptune Technology Group, Inc., where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike through his unwavering commitment and professionalism. His career stands as a testament to his steadfast character and reliability.
Beyond his professional achievements, Joe found great pleasure in outdoor pursuits that connected him to the land he cherished. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent countless hours immersed in the tranquility of nature. His affinity for gardening brought beauty and life to his surroundings, while his skills in repairing lawn mowers reflected a practical mind and readiness to lend a hand. Joe also took pride in raising chickens and found companionship in his beloved dogs, who were a constant presence in his home.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mrs. Carolyn B. Owens, who stood by his side through all the seasons of their life together. He is also survived by his daughter Ashley Page and her husband Chris; his son Brad Owens and his wife Morgan; and his brother Allan Owens and his wife Barbara. The family circle extends to cherished grandchildren—Alex Jones, Jace Lockhart, Blaise Owens, Connor Page, and Dylan Page—each of whom held a special place in Joe’s heart. He was also fondly connected to several nieces and nephews who grieved the loss of a caring uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Mervin and Edna Oliver Owens, and his sister, Brenda Walters, whose memories he carried with him always.
The community will gather to honor Joe’s memory at a visitation held at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, located at 255 Friendship Road, Tallassee, Alabama, on March 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The family will have a private interment at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later time.
Joe Stephen Owens will be remembered not only for his enduring work ethic and hobbies that defined his days but most profoundly for the warmth and kindness he extended to his family and friends. His legacy is one of love, perseverance, and connection to the natural world—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
