It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jimmy Strong, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend, who departed this life on December 29, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 4, 1946, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, he devoted three decades of his professional life to Citizen's Hardware in Notasulga, where his work ethic and amiable personality left an indelible mark on those around him.

Jimmy was not just an industrious worker; he was a man of the outdoors, whose love for nature complemented his spirited character. He found solace and joy amidst the beauty of the natural world, relishing every moment spent outside. His passion for the great outdoors was matched only by his love for gospel music, a genre that resonated deeply within his soul, bringing him comfort and inspiration throughout his life.

His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, and he was a lifelong member of Salem Macon Baptist Church. There, he was known not only for his devotion but also for the warmth and kindness he extended to others, embodying the very principles of fellowship and community. His legacy of faith and service will undoubtedly endure within the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

Jimmy's love for his family was immeasurable. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Brenda (Sue) Strong, whose partnership and affection illuminated his life. He leaves behind his sons, Craig Strong (Sandra) and Keith Strong, alongside his cherished daughter, Christie Winslett (Kris). A proud grandfather, he delighted in the joy of his grandchildren: Meagan Strong, Joshua Strong (Sara), Jordan Strong, Kaylin Strong (Derrick Hammonds), Shelby Cox (Dustin), Bailey Winslett, and Dylan Winslett. The arrival of his great-grandchildren, Emma Strong, Ronan Cox, and Winter Hammonds, brought him immense joy, creating memories that will live on in family lore.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lloyd and Dovie King Strong, as well as his brothers, Ronnie, Roy, and Jackie Strong and nephew, Johnny Strong. Their collective spirits remain intertwined in the fabric of his family's history.

The family will receive friends to honor Jimmy’s life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at Salem Macon Baptist Church in Notasulga, Alabama, Pastor Joey Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.

In this time of remembrance, let us hold dear the functions of love that Jimmy Strong nurtured throughout his years. His spirit lives on in the stories shared, the songs sung, and the gardens tended, enriching the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.
