Mr. James Howard Winfield, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born February 15, 1935, in Elmore County, Alabama to Charlie and Lessie I. Winfield.
Mr. Winfield is survived by his daughter, Alicia Hornsby (Mark); granddaughter, Sarah Hornsby (Brandon Peacock); great granddaughter, Aria Haynie; brother-in-law, Jimmy Cooper; sister-in-law, Ruth Winfield; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Alice Winfield; parents, Charlie and Lessie Winfield; four sisters, Addie Loyce Norrell (Wendell), Annie Merle Mooney (Junior), Willodean Cooper and Imogene Winfield and brother, Herman Winfield.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid coon hunter and also raised many coon dogs.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 8, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00PM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM from Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ron Estes officiating.
