James Roscoe Bozeman Jr., a dedicated educator and beloved community member, passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 14, 1940, Mr. Bozeman devoted a significant portion of his life to the field of education, making a profound impact on his students and colleagues at Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama.

Mr. Bozeman's 35-year tenure at Lee High School was marked by his unwavering commitment to academic excellence. He served in various capacities, including math teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal. His leadership extended beyond the classroom as he founded the Hall of Fame at the school, which honors former students and personnel who have made notable contributions to the community. In recognition of his dedication, Mr. Bozeman was inducted into Lee High School’s Hall of Fame in 2000 and received The Founding Father Award in 2025.

Following his retirement from Lee High School, Mr. Bozeman continued to influence the lives of young learners by teaching at Lowndes Academy in Lowndesboro, Alabama, and providing tutoring services for students preparing for math and college entrance exams.

Educationally, Mr. Bozeman was well-prepared for his role as an educator, having earned his bachelor’s degree from Huntingdon College and a master’s degree from Auburn University. His academic achievements underscored his passion for learning, which he instilled in his students.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Bozeman led a fulfilling personal life. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Pam Moulton Bozeman, and was known for his enthusiastic participation in golf and weekly card games with friends. A master griller and an avid fan of Auburn University sporting events, Mr. Bozeman found joy in both culinary endeavors and cheering for his favorite team.

He is survived by his children: Anna Carrie O’Mary of Montgomery, Alabama, Alan Bozeman of Mobile, Alabama; Chris Moulton (Betty) of Hoover, Alabama; Greg Moulton (Angela) of White Oak, Texas; Scott Moulton (Coleen) of St. Augustine, Florida; Sean Moulton of Ashburn, Virginia; and daughter, Serena Vachon (Rick) of Millbrook, Alabama. Mr. Bozeman's legacy lives on through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pam Moulton Bozeman; his parents, Roscoe and Tiel Bozeman; his brother, Bill Bozeman; and his sister, Margaret Quattlebaum.

James Roscoe Bozeman Jr. will be fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication to education, his love for family, and his contributions to the community.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. James Church, 9045 Vaughn Rd, Montgomery, AL 36117 on July 14, 2025. The service time will be announced later.
