Mrs. Edwina Jane McInnish, age 83, of Calhoun, Georgia, and formerly of LaGrange, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Sunday morning, July 27, 2025, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Calhoun. A woman of quiet strength and heartfelt devotion, Edwina lived a life defined by love—for her family, her community, and the people whose lives she touched along the way.
Born on July 6, 1942, in Wallsboro, Alabama, Edwina was the beloved daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Eddie Vara Gantt Parmer. A 1960 graduate of Wetumpka High School, she was shaped by the values of faith, compassion, and service from an early age.
Following her marriage to the love of her life, the late Robert Jackson “Ted” McInnish, Edwina moved to LaGrange, Georgia, where they built a beautiful life together. She briefly worked at a local attorney’s office before dedicating herself fully to the role she cherished most—being a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and loving homemaker. She also volunteered as a "pink lady" at the local hospital, offering comfort and warmth to those in need.
Edwina’s heart belonged to her LaGrange neighborhood, where she formed close bonds with her community. Her warm presence, neighborly spirit, and thoughtful acts of kindness made her a treasured part of the lives she touched. In her later years, she relocated to Calhoun to be closer to family, continuing to be a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted McInnish; her sister Bonnie Jean (Gene) Hatfield; brothers William Paul “Bill” Parmer and Henry Carlson (Barbara) Parmer, Sr.; and brothers-in-law Robert Earl “Bobby” Wood and Ulrich “Rick” Eberhardt.
Edwina is lovingly survived by her sons, David Parmer and Heather McInnish of Helena, AL, and Robert “Rob” and Cheryl McInnish of Dalton, GA; grandsons, Robert “Jack” McInnish and Thomas McInnish, both of Dalton, GA; sisters, Nelda Wood of Wetumpka, AL, and Gail Eberhardt of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister-in-law, Shelvie “Jean” Parmer of Clearwater, FL; special longtime friend, Donna Casey of Winterville, GA; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Edwina’s legacy lives on in the warmth of her family’s embrace, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her memory will be a guiding light and a source of comfort for all who were blessed to know her.
