With grateful hearts, we celebrate the beautiful life of Debra “Debby” Moore Berry, who left this world surrounded by the love of her daughters on November 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Tallassee, Alabama and a longtime resident of Montgomery, Debby lived her life with a heart wide open-devoted to her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Debby was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Eloise Moore, and her grandparents, Frank and Bertha Williamson, and Y.O. and Martha Moore.
Debby dedicated over 40 years of service to the State of Alabama, where she worked with commitment and grace, retiring in 2014 as the Departmental Operations Specialist for the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). Her professionalism, kindness, and unwavering sense of responsibility left a lasting mark on her colleagues and all who worked beside her.
Outside of work, Debby found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved cooking for her loved ones, walking, journaling, painting, reading, writing poetry, and sharing time with her church family. She was known for her thoughtful gestures and “random acts of kindness” that touched hearts in quiet but unforgettable ways.
Those who knew Debby will remember her as a devoted, loving, and encouraging listener – someone who always saw the best in others and offered a kind word at just the right moment. Her warmth filled every room, and her laughter and gentle wisdom made others feel instantly at home.
She is survived by her daughters, Shea Flora and Keely Stallings (Rick); her grandchildren, Jade Jordan, Zion Ziegler, Chad Stallings (Kim), and Christy Stallings; and her great-grandchildren, Finley White, Kinsey Dean, Hagen Stallings, Hinton Stallings, and Henley Stallings. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Becky Jones (Robert); nephew, John Goss; great nephew, Nathan Goss, great niece, Sarah Goss; and her beloved cousins and dearest friends, Marilyn Blake, Diane Mann, Charlotte Peters, and Ruthie Spencer.
Family welcomes friends on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home in Tallassee, Alabama. A celebration of Debby’s life will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m led by Reverend Neal Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Chad Stallings, Hagen Stallings, Hunter Stallings, Hinton Stallings, Henley Stallings, John Goss, Zion Ziegler, Teddy Fike and Robert Jones.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Riley Norton, Dr. Michael Hanna, Kristen Rivers, and the special partners of NHC Place in Anniston, Alabama, for their love, care and support.
Debby’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, creativity, and love for others. Her light will continue to shine through every act of kindness, every shared meal, and every smile she inspired.
