Daryl Keith Ivey, born October 23, 1948, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. Mr. Ivey, a steadfast and diligent individual, dedicated two decades of his life to Uniroyal Tires in Opelika, Alabama, where he concluded a career marked by unwavering commitment and exemplary service.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Daryl's essence was beautifully woven with a profound love for the melodies of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, artists whose music echoed the depth of his character and spirit. While he was an enthusiast of this timeless country music, he also found solace and strength in the sanctuary of his home gym, a place where he nurtured his physical well-being with the same dedication he applied to every facet of life.

A family man at heart, Daryl was lovingly supported by his devoted wife of thirty-five years, Mrs. Virginia Ivey, whose companionship was a steadfast pillar of his existence. Daryl is survived by his son, Wade Howard; daughter, Jennifer King (Joe); mother, Annie Jo Howard; brother, Gary Howard; sister, Cindy Walker; brothers-in-law, Harold Ivey, David (Gail) Ivey and Alex (Janet) Ivey; grandchildren, Calvin King, Marissa King, Deanna Bowman (Robert), Caroline Norrell, and Harley Jordan; and great-grandchild, Sutton Haygood, along with several cherished nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, D.W. Howard and brother-in-law, Joseph Ivey.

Though there are no services scheduled at this time, the memory of Daryl Keith Ivey remains a luminous thread in the fabric of his family’s lives, a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength. He also leaves behind the fond memory of his beloved fur companion, Sugar, who has departed this life.

As we mourn the departure of a man who lived with integrity and grace, we also celebrate the indelible mark he leaves upon our hearts—a life well-lived and a soul forever cherished.
