Crystal G. Collins, born on October 25, 1980, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on August 19, 2026. Her life was marked by love, dedication, and a profound impact on those around her.
Crystal’s journey was illuminated by her immense dedication and boundless compassion—a defining trait in every role she embraced. As a Special Education Teacher at Tallassee Elementary School and The Learning Tree, Inc., Crystal touched countless lives. Her classroom was more than a place of learning; it was a sanctuary of encouragement, understanding, and inspiration. She approached every child as both a student and an individual, igniting their potential and nurturing their confidence with patience and wisdom. Colleagues and families alike cherished her devotion, admiring her unwavering belief in the ability of every child to thrive.
Crystal was much more than an educator; she was a pillar of her family, steadfast and loving. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jason Collins, whose partnership was marked by laughter, mutual admiration, and enduring support. Her legacy continues in her beloved children—her son, Jason Collins, Jr., and her daughter, Aliah Yelko—each a testament to her love, guidance, and nurturing spirit.
She is also survived by her mother, Donna Hicks, who instilled in Crystal many of the values she so gracefully embodied. Crystal’s siblings—her sisters, Candy Hobart and Michelle Hicks, and her brothers, Nick Hicks, David Hicks and Jeff Hicks —mourn her loss while carrying forward the closeness and shared memories that so enriched their lives. Her mother-in-law, Marylan Collins, her sister-in-law, Melinda Collins, her brother-in-law, Christian Collins, and several nieces and nephews will always remember Crystal’s generosity, warmth, and the inclusive embrace that defined her.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Hicks and her brother, Darrell Hicks.
An ardent lover of music in all its forms, Crystal found joy and solace in melodies that filled her days with harmony. Whether guiding her students through difficult challenges, or spending precious moments with her family, music was the gentle, unwavering current that brightened her journey and brought smiles to those around her.
Crystal will be remembered always as a very loving and special wife, mother, and teacher—a soul whose presence radiated patience, gentleness, and understanding. Her unwavering kindness resonated with all, leaving an indelible mark on hearts and minds alike.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time, allowing friends, family, and those touched by Crystal’s extraordinary spirit to gather in gratitude for the life she so beautifully lived.
