Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Coach Jackie R. Davis, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the age of 87. Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Coach Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lila Davis; children, Dave Davis (Susan), Russell Davis (Susan), Monte Carmack and Sandra Justice (Wallace); grandchildren, Michael Davis (Terri), Aimee Davis, Amanda Lassitter, Caroline Lawrence (Jonathan), Selby Davis (Sarah), Robert Justice (Lauren) and Meredith Smith (Jared); ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Martha Ann Davis. Coach Davis was well known for his career of 35 years in education, serving as a head coach, principal and teacher – for the school systems of Tallassee, Elmore County and Stanhope Elmore. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and had retired from the Alabama National Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease, One Perimeter Park South, Suite 100N, Birmingham, Alabama 35243.
