Christopher “Chris” Jarrett Barlow, of Tuskegee, Alabama, passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 26. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, on June 7, 2000, Chris brought into the world a bright spirit that would be remembered for its creativity, warmth, and generosity.

Chris was very artistic, and he moved through life with a natural gift for expression. He enjoyed music deeply, especially singing and playing the guitar, and those who knew him will remember the joy and energy he brought to those moments. He also had a tremendous sense of humor, a quality that brightened the lives of family and friends and made time spent with him memorable. Along with his wit and creativity, Chris was very sharing and extremely generous, giving of himself in ways that left a lasting impression on the people around him.

Among the experiences that stood out most in Chris’s life, attending Camp Seale Harris, sponsored by the Southeastern Diabetes Education Services, every summer was a special highlight. It was a cherished part of his life and one that reflected the happiness he found in community, tradition, and meaningful connection.

Chris is survived by his father, Scott C. Barlow (Dana); his mother, Nancy L. Smitherman (Roger); his brothers, Cameron Barlow, Kyel Barlow, and Jackson Barlow (Jordan), and by his nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved by his family, and his memory will remain close to them in the laughter he inspired, the music he enjoyed, and the kindness he so freely shared.

Christopher “Chris” Jarrett Barlow will be remembered with affection and gratitude for the light he brought into the lives of others. His artistic spirit, generous heart, and unmistakable humor will continue to live on in the memories of all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
