Carolyn Elaine Miller

Carolyn Elaine Miller passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born on October 27, 1942, to Eldridge and Hixie Holt in Tallassee, Alabama.

After graduating from Troy University at Montgomery with her degree in nursing, she faithfully completed thirty years between East Alabama Medical Center and Community Hospital of Tallassee. She married Tony Miller in 1961 and together they shared sixty-five wonderful years.

Carolyn loved tending to her flower garden, spending time with her family and trips to the mountains of Tennessee. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and taught Sunday School for over sixty years. She had a heart for mission work and spent much time supporting the Women’s Missionary Union.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Miller; children, Beth M. Nobles (Jeff), Wade Miller (Denise) and Jason Hornsby (Kathy); grandchildren, Josh Hornsby (Ally), Nicole Stange, Jarett Nobles, Brandon Hornsby, Laken Price (Justin), Austin Nobles, Drew Moseley (Luke), Sarah Miller, Trey Miller (Ava Claire), Owen Strickland, Collin Jones and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie M. Hornsby; parents, Eldridge and Hixie Holt and brother, Doyle Holt.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church, Tallassee, Alabama, Dr. Trey Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
