He enjoyed it so much that he bought his house in a community where his regular golf course was located, playing frequently on Thursday nights, Saturdays and any other time that he could get in 18 holes. Known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Bruce was an especially doting grandfather. He found great joy in his grandchildren and would light up at the simple mention of their names. Since the age of 18, Bruce has worked for Diamond Roofing Co., a commercial roofing company started by his father in 1971. Upon Bill’s retirement, Bruce assumed the role of company president, a job in which he took great delight and responsibility. He was especially proud when his son, Baxter, began working there several years ago making a third generation with the business.
