Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mrs. Geraldine Warren Johnson, age 90, a resident of Austin, Texas, passed away July 25, 2012. She was born August 7, 1921, to George W. Warren and Willie Minter Warren in Eclectic, Alabama. After Willie Minter Warren's death, G.W. Warren married Winnie Gauntt. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Eclectic with Rev. Britt Green officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until service. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Nancy Jones of Avon, CT and Carol Samouce of Austin, TX and was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Otho W. (Bill) Johnson, Lt. Col., U.S.A.R. (ret.) who passed away April 7, 2010, and her son, Robert Warren Johnson of Glen Ridge, NJ, who passed, July 23, 2005. Geraldine graduated valedictorian in 1939 from Reeltown High School (AL) where she was editor of her high school newspaper. Upon graduation, she completed Draughon's Business College in Montgomery, AL. She worked for an attorney at the Courthouse, at Farm Security Administration, and Selective Service in Montgomery, AL. Geraldine married Otho W. Johnson, Dec. 2, 1945 in Eclectic, AL and then moved to Baltimore, MD, where she worked as a secretary at Ft. Meade. The family then moved to the Atlanta area where Geraldine and Bill were active members of both Utoy Springs Baptist Church and Dunwoody Baptist Church for over 40 years before moving to Austin, Texas. Geraldine devoted her life to family and God. She was concerned and involved with family and extended-family her entire life.
