Mr. Ned Butler, Sr.

Jeffcoat Funeral Home 255 Friendship Road Tallassee, AL 36078 Tel (334) 283-6801 Mr. Ned Butler, Sr., a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, December 07, 2011, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 2:00pm from Westside Baptist Church, Tallassee, Alabama, with Pastors David Barrentine, Burton Herrin and grandson, Trey Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Butler; sons, Steve Butler (Cathy) and Robin Butler (Penny); daughter-in-law, Linda Butler; brothers, Kenneth, Jack and Edward Butler; nine grandchildren; Angel Miller, Michael Butler, Trey Butler, Beth Royster, Kami Scarborough, Larry Butler, Cody Butler, Matthew Butler, Reid Butler and sixteen great grandchildren. Mr. Butler was the founder of WTLS Radio in Tallassee and held several positions in state government where he eventually retired as a Director at the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, (ADECA), in 2008. He is preceded in death by his son, Ned Butler, Jr., three brothers, Farris, William, C.L. and Claud Butler, two sisters, Charlotte Hawkins and Vera Moran.
